Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds release their 16th studio album, Skeleton Tree. The Australian post-punk outfit will debut the entire album in a feature film called One More Time With Feeling, set to screen one-night only, the night before the album release.
One More Time With Feeling was directed by New Zealand filmmaker Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Killing Them Softly). The film includes footage of the Bad Seeds performing Skeleton Tree, along with interviews and Cave’s candid musings. Skeleton Tree follows the band’s 2013 LP Push the Sky Away.
The project began as a performance-based piece and evolved into a documentary-type project that explored the “tragic backdrop of the writing and recording of the album” concerning the loss of Cave’s teenage son in July 2015.
Skeleton Tree will be available at Basement Discs on LP and CD
