Melbourne’s country and honky tonk outfit, James Ellis and the Jealous Guys have just released their 2nd album & we are mighty proud to be stocking it!! Country Lion is the follow-up to their debut “It Ain’t Texas (But It Ain’t Bad), which won Best Country Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards in 2018.
This is an album to listen to from start to finish, as the band takes listeners on a musical ride. “When I listen to the record all the way through, it’s a sense of a journey through lots of different styles through country and associated roots music,” James said. “I hope that comes across to people because that’s the kind of record we tried to make.”
Although the band would love to get out and play the album live, it’s uncertain when that will happen, but a tour and support spots are in the works. Until then, listeners can wrap their ears around the new record.
