Description

Over the past 12 months 24-year-old Melbourne singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has received international acclaim for her remarkable ability to make ‘suburban banalities’ and ‘mindless procrastination’ endlessly compelling. Courtney has quickly caught the attention of music lovers and critics the world over. Barnett’s talent for crafting catchy songs is fully displayed with the release The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas. The album collates Courtney’s story so far, compiling the twelve tracks from her two self- released 2012 EPs, ‘I’ve Got A Friend Called Emily Ferris’ and ‘How To Carve A Carrot Into A Rose’ Courtney’s music featured strongly in 2012 end of year lists, including NME, Spin, The Music, Rolling Stone (USA), Pitchfork, Fuse and NPR.  “Avant Gardener” has had significant play on Triple j and community radio and “History Eraser” was recently nominated for the APRA Song Of The Year. Right now Courtney is on a SOLD OUT tour of the UK & USA and will return to Australia in March to support Billy Bragg on his national tour. Later in 2014 Barnett will tour the UK & USA more extensively and will make festival appearances at Sasquatch, Primavera and Coachella.
