Originally cutting her teeth on early soul, blues & jazz, in particular with songs of the 30’s to the 60’s, Yolanda has been impressing audiences in the clubs & pubs of Melbourne & overseas, particularly London, where she has travelled several times in recent years to perform (including a 4 week stint at the legendary West End Club ‘Jazz After Dark’).
Back home in Melbourne, she has been performing around town and writing & recording her own original material. Incredibly, she only started writing songs 2 yrs ago – but you would never guess this, given the high quality of her songwriting & arranging – her songs project great soul, wit, wry observation & depth of vision with clever & interesting music arrangements.
The resulting new album, ‘THIS DANGEROUS AGE’ is a simply stunning album of great lyrical songs that resonate & really connect with listeners, an album that is beautifully arranged & recorded, & features the ‘cream’ of Melbourne’s finest musicians.
