Description

Words: A Bee Gees Songbook  is a covers collection showcasing the early idiosyncratic songwriting genius of the Brothers Gibb.

27 artists – ranging from the celebrated to the obscure – do justice to numbers composed by the band between 1965 and 1969.  Featuring some of the Bee Gees most recognizable early works alongside undiscovered gems, with several recordings making their CD debut.

If you are  a fan of Gibb Brother’s music this release is definitely one that you should pocket now as these kind of (usually limited) re-issues very quickly become  rare items much sought after and hard to get for a reasonable price.

From its informative inlay and pictured booklet telling you how each of these songs came into being. ,, What is often so interesting & enlightening with these kinds of comps is the range of material recorded by both well known artists and lesser known artists & their individual interpretations.

Whilst there have certainly been previous compilations of Gibb compositions performed by others this one is a fine and commendable release with some very interesting tracks of its own to boast of.

This comp is a testament to  the incredibly expansive and imaginative dynamics of the Gibb Brother’s song writing abilities and continuing legacy.
