After years of making somber, traditionalist folk on dueling acoustic guitars, Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan — who perform together as THE MILK CARTON KIDS — expand their musical horizons on the duo’s most engaging and diverse record to date. For a large majority of their career they have restricted their sound and aesthetic, reducing their palette to two acoustic guitars, their harmonising voices, and nothing more. With their latest release, ‘All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do’, they break free from their self-imposed shackles and spread their musical wings. Wilco’s Pat Sansone joins the team to add splashes of piano, strings, and thumping drums to their songs, greatly adding to the dynamic. No doubt the duo has only just begun their new transformation.
