The Spin Doctors are the latest band to prepare a Songs From The Road live album – the DVD/CD set is released on May 19 via Ruf Records.
It follows their 2013 blues album If The River Was Whisky, which emphasised the background they’d grown from before finding mainstream fame with Pocket Full Of Kryptonite in 1991.
Drummer Aaron Comess recently said: “Blues clubs were our bread and butter in the 1980s. I think a lot of people might still come out and see us because of the hits – but then they get there and they’re like, ‘Holy shit, these guys have a whole other thing I didn’t know about.’”
The album was recorded in Germany in October 2013. Comess says: “To me, we sound better than ever. World class, I think.”
