Rita Coolidge has returned to release her 18th studio album, a project she has poured her soul into and has gone as far as saying “This is the best record I’ve ever done. I’m extremely proud of it”. ‘Safe In The Arms Of Time’ is Rita’s first solo album in a decade, being a return to the feel of her ‘70s recordings, as well as a return to a certain honest ‘feeling’ while the sound of the album is state-of-the-art contemporary. The album is warm and inviting, with Rita sounding relaxed, confident and as engaging as ever. Coolidge offers a roots record based on her own roots. She took an active songwriting role as well as bringing in the writing talents of artists including Keb’ Mo’, Stan Lynch, Jill Colucci, Chris Stapleton, and Graham Nash.
