There’s so much that has been packed onto this album from Tasmania’s East Coast blues-roots man Pete Cornelius.
There are moments of fun, with a strong tongue-in-cheek feel to them, while there are also more serious, tender and reflective moments over 12 tracks of originals and covers.The most tender moment comes on Goodnight My Love, which Cornelius wrote for his daughter Etta, while other standouts include Drinking the Blues, Love and Happiness and Been My Gal. On the whole, the sound has a “big” feeling to it and you quickly find yourself clicking your fingers along to the music.
An impressive offering from a man who really knows what he’s doing in this genre of music.
