Description
US singer/songwriter Morgan Wade’s debut studio record Reckless is quite the genre-defying outing. She’s created a heady sonic landscape within the record that allows her to merge and fuse genres together in a way that is powerfully unique. Wade’s vocal is raspy, rock-tinged bliss and is showcased throughout, front and centre, lacing throughout powerful and complicated lyrics that strike close to home – covering heavy topics that feel incredibly human.
Credit to her producer, Sadler Vaden, & contributions from several of JASON ISBELL’s mighty 400+ Uniters (should give you a good idea of the rockin feel of this album as it’s lyrics delve deep into the consequences of & moving on from various addictions) all involved have created a broad and diverse soundscape that sits outside the current commercial Nashville sound, given its rock-edged and grittier vibe. It’s definitely NOT the low key Americana style…but well worth checking out for a punchier more personal, direct & upbeat approach. It’s a really good record…check it out!
