Description

After several years of building a cult following, Little Feat finally broke into the US Top Forty in the mid-1970s with Feats Don’t Fail Me Now and The Last Record Album. This October 31, 1975 performance features the band in front of their most loyal audiences, Boston having been a Little Feat stronghold since their formation.

Broadcast on local rock station WBCN-FM, it features performances of songs from all of the first five Little Feat albums, including most of the material from The Last Record Album. Led by guitarist Lowell George, it’s a showcase for the act that Jimmy Page cited as his favorite group earlier that same year in Rolling Stone.

The tunes are from previous Little Feat albums with the added edge of a live recording. Many (if not most) fan’s favorites are here, and are performed with that certain Little Feat sound and feel that made this band distinctive. Trying to talk about highlights is pretty useless–you’re either a Little Feat fan or you’re not. And if you’re not a fan, you’re missing some great music. The vocals are just right, and the musicianship is the usual great playing from this band. Nothing sounds hurried–the music just unfolds in that funky/rocky way Little Feat are well known for.
