KG&TLW are back – having never really left – with their most propulsive and engaging record to date.
The first 25 minutes of this record whooshes past like a freight train, with a standout in the form of centrepiece ‘Am I In Heaven?’. This track opens with 45 seconds of tape-warped acoustic guitar, before bursting into the record’s triumphant melodic refrain at breakneck speed. It’s one of the most compelling things they’ve put to tape thus far and they slay it live. The record closes with yet another highlight in ‘Her & I’, which has been a staple in their set for about a year now. If you like your home furnished with paintings of Looney Tunes as interpreted by an un-dead Carl Sagan on peyote, look no further.
