Featuring 12 covers, the engaging Down Hearted Blues barely qualifies as a departure for the Idaho-bred singer-songwriter, whose languid delivery, regardless of genre, has often suggested a descendant of Billie Holiday, or a down-home cousin of Madeleine Peyroux.
