Description
Ed Kuepper has been making groundbreaking music for nearly 50 years. As a member of The Saints, and after the release of their first single (I’m) Stranded in 1976, he was flung from Brisbane’s suburban wasteland into the pre-punk mayhem of London. Kuepper’s journey as a serious songwriter had begun.
The forever prolific Ed Kuepper is celebrating 45 years as a recording artist with three retrospective releases spanning a large chunk of his post-Saints musical output.
“Ed Kuepper – Singles ’86 ‘ ’96” will compile every solo A side from that period on vinyl and CDs, the latter format featuring a bonus disc of B sides and obscurities. Somewhat surprisingly: Singles ’86 – ‘96 is Kueppers first ever collection of 45’s and CD singles. From the spaghetti-western inspired opener of the 1986 cult-fave Also Sprach the King of Euro-disco through the baroque overtones of All Of These Things, the much covered 1992 classic The Way I Made You Feel these tracks and the other 17 collected here point to Kuepper’s seemingly effortless ability to roll out classic after classic during a decade that was arguably his most prolific.
