Description
Tooth and Nail sees Billy Bragg emerging from his lengthy period of recording and touring of Woody Guthries works with his most accomplished record since 1986s Talking with the Taxman about Poetry. Following the same formula that he has for most of his career Bragg merges old-fashioned love songs with depressive images of stark alienation and economic disparity. Despite this his style is more refined than ever before and his voice and stories are filled with the new found weariness of a confused and tormented idealist.
